Hawaii hotel rates jump 16% on modest occupancy gain (feeds.bizjournals)
Occupancy at Hawaii hotels rose by four percentage points last week, while
room rates jumped 16 percent, according to a weekly report by Hospitality
Advisors LLC and Smith Travel Research. Hawaii hotels were 77 percent full
during the week that ended Nov. 12, the report said. The average daily room
rate was $196,78, which was 16.1 percent higher than the same week in 2010.
Hotels on Oahu, which hosted the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Leaders’
Week meetings, were 80.9 percent occupied last week, which was just one
percentage point higher than a year ago...
