Choose Among These 5 Tropical Drinks for Your Tiki Hut Bars by Adam Gleason
Summer-like weather and tropical drinks go hand in hand, wouldn't you say? Is it because we relate these cool, refreshing drinks with ocean breezes, sun-kissed seashores, or poolside luxury? Indisputably, tropical drinks are in tall order as of late, wherever you go, even if you just step outside of your own dwelling and into one of your tiki hut bars set up in your patio!
It appears many tropical cocktails are much more in style at the moment than when they were first created in the "Roaring 20's" and 30's. Famous icons like Ernest Hemingway helped popularize drinks like the Daiquiri which he discovered when he traveled to Cuba, and Don the Beachcomber and Trader Vic opened up their first tiki hut bars too. Even Las Vegas casinos began providing tropical drinks in the late 30's. They continue to be extraordinarily popular -- and not at all restricted to the well-healed crowd!
Tropical cocktails usually have a mix of sweet and sour flavors. They include nearly any fruit you would think of, with rum, tequila, or vodka as the dominant spirits. Let's see if these top 5 tropical drinks are amongst your favorites too:
1) The Margarita - Some individuals say that the Margarita is not simply the most popular tropical drink, but also America's #1most preferred cocktail drink. The Margarita is a refreshing drink that may be made in so many ways with tequila, and is unquestionably the must have summer time cocktail. There are so many variations to the Margarita that you could host a complete debate on everyone's favourite margarita recipe or margarita mix in your tiki hut bars one evening. There are three primary ways you may serve this cocktail: neat, on the rocks, or frozen. The next question is, do you add salt, sugar or nothing on the rim of your glass. The possibilities are almost endless.
2) The Pi?a Colada - Who hasn't heard of the Pi?a Colada? Not only is this highly regarded tropical cocktail featured in a romantic tune ("Escape"), this heavenly, rum/coconut cream and pineapple juice drink is frequently concocted in the best blenders for frozen drinks. By the way, the Blue Hawaiian is derived from the Pi?a Colada. Simply add blue cura?ao and watch it become blue.
3) The Frozen Daiquiri - Would you imagine that the original Daiquiri was created in Cuba in the late 1800's as a medicinal remedy for malaria? In the present day this marvelous rum-based cocktail combined with lime juice and sugar syrup is available in a load of fruit flavors. The frozen daiquiri version is one other must have summer drink.
4) The Beachcomber - Simply by its title, you understand it must be a popular tropical drink! It's the right summer season evening cocktail. Sometimes it is described as a maraschino-flavored Daiquiri --the maraschino liqueur taste is hard to overlook, even in the middle of triple sec, lime juice, and light rum. Yum!
5) The Rum Runner - The Rum Runner is another excellent tropical rum drink consisting of blackberry brandy, cr?me de banana, orange juice and either Falernum (an almond, ginger, lime and spiced sugar syrup) or grenadine, depending on your preference. Don't put away that blender! And remember to have plenty of ice on hand!
The listing can go on and on, as there are dozens and dozens of fabulous tropical drinks and mouth watering variations that can be savored anytime -- not just when it's warm -- and wherever, not just poolside!
