Grapefruit Lotion
A Great Natural Body Lotion by Lynne and Chad Eribourne
To say it's been a project to find a safe, natural body lotion that I like is certainly an understatement.
I am an avid label reader, whether it's food or skin care products, it doesn't matter. My reason for that is whatever I put on my body is eventually going to end up in my body.
The last thing I want to do is use a lotion, for example, that may contain potentially toxic and unsafe ingredients.
Because of this, I've tried many different creams and lotions, but I've recently found one that I really like and wanted to share with you.
My New Favorite Natural Body Lotion:
Several months ago I came across a website while I was searching for a respectable source for organic virgin coconut oil. The company is called Tropical Traditions (www.TropicalTraditions.com) and they are well known for their handmade, high quality virgin coconut oil.
Among dozens of other products, they also offer skin care products including moisturizing creams and lotions. I decided to try their lotion a few weeks ago and I love it, so I just reordered more!
Just as I mentioned above, they are known for their high quality organic virgin coconut oil, which Chad and I use and love. Their coconut oil is the main ingredient in their lotion, which is great for your skin.
Along with the coconut oil, there are just five other ingredients (in the unscented lotion): purified water, organic virgin palm oil, grapefruit seed extract, emulsifying wax (plant-based, no soy) and organic jojoba.
Tropical Traditions does have a few scented lotions, and the only additional ingredients in those are organic essential oils.
Ask Chad. I read A LOT of labels, and I don't think I've ever seen a skin care product with such a small list of ingredients that are all safe.
I also love that the lotion doesn't feel greasy at all, as some lotions unfortunately do. Also, it's safe to use from head to toe, so you don't need to buy any additional face cream if you don't want to.
One of the ingredients I mentioned was organic virgin palm oil, which among other benefits has powerful antioxidants such as Vitamin E. Speaking from my own personal experience, Vitamin E is one of the most important things in skin care.
I know many people reach for aloe to heal skin and burns, for example, and I do love aloe too. However, when it comes to healing, I've found for many years now that I tend to reach for Vitamin E first.
As you can see, I'm very passionate about great quality, healthy and safe skin care products just as I am about good quality, healthy and safe food. I am glad to have found this lotion and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it if you are looking for a safe, natural body lotion as well!
