I Can’t Believe It: The Swelling Is Down and I Can Move My Hand!    by Susan Monson

We recently treated an 84-year-old male for arthritis in his right hand.

The knuckles in his thumb, all the way back to the joint near his wrist, were swollen to twice the size of his other hand. The entire area was discolored. It was so painful that he couldn't open his hand and had no use of his thumb.

He had experienced the arthritis for many years. In the past, he had sought medical treatment for the pain. He received painful injections of cortisone into the joint of his hand which gave temporary relief.

We asked him to evaluate the pain on a scale of 0 to 10, with 10 being the worst pain. He told us the pain level was at a 10.

Introduction to Bioenergy Therapy

When he showed us his hand, we began to talk with him about Bioenergy therapy.

He smiled politely and changed the subject.

Again, we discussed Bioenergy therapy, citing several examples of cases of arthritis we had previously treated with Bioenergy.

We talked with him about:

• How we needed to treat his hand energetically for 4 days in a row.
• The process being non-invasive, non-medical and non-chemical--only energy.
• What he could expect from the energy therapy and how it might feel.
• The importance of allowing his hand to heal by not over-using it when it felt better.

He listened politely, then changed the subject.

Finally, we touched his hand and told him we would like to work on the arthritis and if it didn't help this first time, we wouldn't do anything further and would skip the following 3 days of therapy.

I Can't Believe It!

After the initial therapy, he looked at us incredulously.

"I can't believe it. Now, I'm not kidding--it doesn't hurt near as much as it did. And, look--I can make a fist and I can begin to open my thumb."

He truly thought after sleeping through the night, he would awaken with the same pain. But, in the morning, the swelling was less, the discoloration slightly less and he could still partially use his hand.

Again, when we saw him, he said, "I can't believe it--it REALLY is better!!"

After Four Days of Bioenergy Therapy

The swelling was minimal, the discoloration better, the pain much less, and the use of the hand was greatly improved.

It was still not the same as the other hand. He said, "I guess it'll always hurt a little. I can't expect it to be like the other hand."

Our Answer

Our suggestion was to wait one week. His body needed time to continue making good use of the bioenergy in his body. We told him, "As your body heals itself, don't do anything to strain your hand. If it still hurts after one week, we'll treat your hand again, using the 4-day therapy."

We were traveling home the second week, when we received the phone call from this man. He told us that there was still some pain, but it was in a different location now. It was mostly located in the joint where his thumb connected to his hand, near his wrist.

We asked him, "On a scale of 0 to 10, how bad was the pain?" This time, the pain level was at a 4. Definitely better, but we thought his thumb could heal even further.

We talked to him about working by distance and set the time for his next therapy.

By the last day (4th day), we asked him, "Again, on a scale of 0 to 10, how bad is the pain with 10 being the worst?" This time the pain was at a 1.

Distance Bioenergy Therapy

As we used the Bioenergy therapy on him by distance, he reported feeling a pulling on his thumb and it began to ache. When we finished, he followed our instruction and opened and closed his hand, stretching the thumb as far as he could.

This time, the pain was 0, he could open and close his hand, he could stretch his thumb, the swelling was completely down and the discoloration much less. He said, "Now I have to admit, I would have laughed if you had told me about what could happen with my hand. But, I'm NOT kidding--the pain is GONE! And I have full use of my hand! I can't believe it!!"

His next question was, "Can I go play golf?"

Our answer: "Wait a week, try to hit the ball and see if there is any pain. If so, wait another week until you try again. Give your body the time it needs to fully heal."

Our Interpretation

When a person experiences such long term pain, it's really difficult for them to believe that anything can make a difference.

We know that God's energy flows through us into the person and that the person's body will take what is needed and use it to begin the healing process. But since we are not doing the actual healing, we don't know for sure how quickly or how fully a person's body will heal. Only God knows that.
